Weaviate Academy - Terms & Conditions

To be eligible to register for the Weaviate Academy, you must review and accept the terms of this Weaviate Academy Terms of Service (this “Agreement” or these “Terms”) by clicking the terms of service checkbox or other mechanism provided within the registration process.

PLEASE REVIEW THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. BY ACCEPTING THESE TERMS OR USING THE WEAVIATE ACADEMY, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS WITH WEAVIATE B.V. (“Weaviate”). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS, YOU SHOULD NOT USE THE WEAVIATE ACADEMY.

Weaviate may revise these Terms from time to time. If Weaviate does revise these Terms, the revised Terms will supersede prior versions. Revisions will be effective upon the effective date indicated at the top of these Terms. Weaviate will provide you advance notice of any material revisions. This notice will be provided via the Weaviate website and/or via an email to the email address Weaviate has on file. Weaviate encourages you to check the effective date of these Terms whenever you visit Weaviate’s website or account portal. Your continued access or use of the Weaviate Academy constitutes your acceptance of any revisions.

If you do not agree to the revisions, you should stop using the Weaviate Academy and Weaviate is not obligated to provide you with access to the Weaviate Academy.

1. Personal Information

    1.1 Personal Information. Your Personal Information: Information collected from you is subject to Weaviate's Privacy policy, available at https://weaviate.io/privacy

2. Intellectual Property

    2.1 Intellectual Property. All content, materials, visuals, videos, documents, and any other resources provided as part of the Weaviate Academy (including but not limited to course materials, study guides, and exams) are the intellectual property (“IP”) of Weaviate B.V. or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property and copyright laws.
    2.2 Reproduction. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, publish, or transmit any part of the Program materials in any form or by any means without the prior written consent of Weaviate.

3. Code of Conduct

    3.1 Integrity. You agree to uphold the integrity and credibility of the Weaviate Academy by:

      3.1.1 Completing all assessments and exams independently and honestly.
      3.1.2 Not engaging in any activity that could give you or others an unfair advantage.
      3.1.3 Reporting any suspected misconduct to Weaviate.

4. Participation in Weaviate Certification Program

    4.1 Prohibited Use and Content Sharing. Copying, distributing, or sharing any part of the certification exams, including but not limited to exam questions, answers, scenarios, and explanations, is strictly prohibited.

    4.2. Violation of the terms set below shall result in the immediate revocation of any certification awarded, a permanent ban from all may subject the violator to legal action. The User specifically agrees not to:

      4.2.1 Reproduce or disseminate any exam content, in whole or in part, through any online or offline format.
      4.2.2 Share or discuss specific exam questions or answers with any third party.
      4.2.3 Aid, abet, or encourage any other person to violate these terms.

    4.3 Unauthorized assistance. The use of any unauthorized external assistance, tools, or software during the examination process is strictly prohibited and shall constitute a material breach of these terms and academic dishonesty. Any participant found to be in violation of this clause will have their certification attempt immediately invalidated and may be subject to permanent disqualification from the Program and potential legal action. Unauthorized assistance and tools include, but are not limited to:

      4.3.1 Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools: Including, but not limited to, chatbots, large language models, or automated assistance such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Copilot.
      4.3.2 Unauthorized Materials: Accessing or utilizing online answer databases, "exam dumps," or any prohibited written or digital reference materials.
      4.3.3 External Communication: Receiving or soliciting any form of human or automated external information or communication.

    4.4 Certification Validity and Revocation. Certification is awarded based solely on the participant’s performance and compliance with the Program rules. Weaviate reserves the right to revoke certification at any time if:

      4.4.1 A breach of these Terms and Conditions is discovered post-certification.
      4.4.2 Fraudulent behavior or exam misconduct is identified.

5. Warranties and Limitation of Liability

    5.1 Warranties. Weaviate is not obligated to any representations or warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, regarding any certification or your participation in the exam.

    5.1.2 Liability. By using Weaviate Academy or entering a Weaviate Exam, you agree to hold no harm against and do release Weaviate, our entities, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and agencies, or each of their respective parent companies as well as any of such company officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively “released parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of the participation in the Exam or receipt of any certification. The release parties are not responsible for:

      5.1.1 Any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by participants, printing or human errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in any of the Courses or Exams
      5.1.2 Technical failures of any kind
      5.1.3 Unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or during the Exam
      5.1.4 Technical or human error, which may occur in the administration of the Exam or the processing of entries, or any injury or damage to persons or property, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from your participation in the Exam or receipt of any certification.

6. General

    6.1 Unenforceability. If a court of competent jurisdiction determines that any provision of this Agreement is invalid, illegal, or otherwise unenforceable, such provision will be enforced as nearly as possible in accordance with the stated intention of the parties, while the remainder of this Agreement will remain in full force and effect and bind the parties according to its terms.
    6.2 Governing Law. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, excluding the rules governing conflict of laws and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be referred to and finally and exclusively resolved by the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and each party irrevocably waives any objections to such venue.
    6.3 Notices. Any notice required or permitted to be given hereunder will be given in writing by personal delivery, certified mail, return receipt requested, or by overnight delivery. Notices to the parties must be sent to the party’s principal place of business or such other address as designated by such party.
